Water is at the heart of many of the most pressing challenges of our time. It is a valuable resource not only for domestic use, food, energy and industrial production, but also for delivering well-being and cultural services. Reliable access to clean water contributes to alleviating poverty, poor health and inequality. However, what was once an abundant natural resource now requires careful and wholistic management to ensure its availability and quality for future generations and the environment.
This series of online short courses covers today’s major water issues and provides the skills and expertise relevant to deliver innovative water management solutions which increase water supply resilience and environmental quality from a variety of backgrounds and career perspectives.
All courses are comprised of four weekly 3-hour live online sessions throughout the month of May (specific dates in the table below), which facilitate their integration with work commitments. The sessions combine lectures with a range of individual and participative activities. The courses are delivered by ÃÀ¼§¸ó academics who are world-leading experts in diverse fields related to water management.
