What to do in the case of an emergency

In an emergency, call 999 for the police, ambulance or fire service.

Please also call:

  • our Security team on 01234 752999 if the incident is taking place on the ÃÀ¼§¸ó campus,
  • the Military Service Guard on 01793 785222 if you’re at the Shrivenham site,
  • Bouverie House main reception on 01234 758389 at MK:U.

For non-emergencies, call:

  • our Security team on 01234 752999 (24-hours) if the incident is taking place on the ÃÀ¼§¸ó campus,
  • the Military Service Guard on 01793 785222 if the incident is taking place on the Shrivenham site,
  • main reception at Bouverie House on 01234 758389 if you’re studying at MK:U,
  • the Police on 101,
  • NHS direct on 111.

What’s the difference?

Emergency: a situation that poses an immediate risk to health, life, property, or environment.

Urgent (non-emergency): an illness, situation or injury that requires urgent attention but is not a life-threatening situation.

Other non-emergency options:

If you, or the person you're with, don’t need immediate medical attention, please consider

  • Self-care at home;
  • Online advice and health information from the ;
  • Talking to a ;
  • Visiting or calling your ;
  • Making your own way to(arriving in an ambulance doesn't mean you'll be seen any quicker)
    • A&Es local to ÃÀ¼§¸ó are Milton Keynes and Bedford hospitals.
    • If you are located on the Shrivenham site, the closest A&E department is at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.

The Samaritans offer a free 24/7 helpline: phone 116 123 - and an email service - jo@samaritans.org - if you are going through a mental or emotional crisis, have suicidal thoughts, or just want someone to talk to in a safe and confidential space.
