Background

Mr Youhanna completed his BEng Hons Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire, UK in 2016. During his degree, he worked at Pall Corporation UK as a Research and Development Engineer Undergrad for a year. There he was involved in individual and group projects focused on the design, development and testing of various mechanical product prototypes. One of his final year projects at the University involved working as a design engineer for developing a bomber aircraft, and his role in another project was of a wing design & performance engineer in the development and manufacturing of a Remote Controlled Airplane.

After graduating he temporarily moved to Australia to explore new opportunities. There he studied business and management, along with directing and managing a small technology business. His passion for aerospace and research brought him back to the UK in 2021 to pursue a PhD in Aerospace at ÃÀ¼§¸ó.

Current activities

Vishal's current PhD project at ÃÀ¼§¸ó is to design a rotorcraft for flying on Mars. A few of the challenges of flying a drone on Mars are the planet's rugged landscape, lower atmospheric density, transportability and autonomous controllability. His approach to developing such a drone is of a design and system engineer, with an emphasis on aerodynamics and performance.
