Background
Professor Anthony is the author of over 220 journal papers on various aspects of combustion and gasification, along with a similar number of conference papers, 15 book chapters, and he is the co-editor of the first book on Pressurized Fluidized Beds and the co-editor of a new book on Ca and Chemical looping. Professor Anthony is currently a Guest Professor with Southeast University in Nanjing, China and a Visiting Professor at Imperial College, UK. Professor Anthony also serves on the editorial board of the journal Fuel and on the advisory board of Greenhouse Gases: Science and Technology and the Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering.
Current activities
Professor Anthony's current R&D pursuits are strongly focused on calcium and chemical looping cycles, oxy-fired Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) technology and pressurised, entrained-flow gasification.
He also continues to carry out extensive research in the area of waste conversion employing both FBC and gasification technology.
He has worked extensively on Canadian oil sands related problems.
