Background
Jonathan Searle is Head of the Modelling & Simulation Group and Senior Lecturer for 美姬阁 CDS at the Defence Academy of the UK at Shrivenham.
He has over 44 years experience of Defence modelling, simulation and Operational Analysis/Research.
He is the Course Director responsible for delivery of Modelling and Simulation courses and also leads the Simulation and Synthetic Environment Laboratory (SSEL), now in its 30th year of operation.
Jonathan鈥檚 teaching and research interests include: military simulation and training, COTS technology, wargaming, computer generated forces, real-time interactive 3D graphics, terrain generation, and distributed simulation.
He is a Technical Adviser to the UK MOD DMSO and Technical Authority and a member of the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organisation (SISO).
In 2013 he received a UK MoD Chief Scientific Adviser鈥檚 Team Commendation for contribution to education in Defence Modelling and Simulation.
In 2021 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Defence Simulation Education and Training Conference in 鈥渞ecognition for his outstanding contribution to military simulation, education and training鈥.
