Climate change and human activity are having profound impacts on catchments. Increasing temperatures, more frequent and intense rainstorms, and more prolonged droughts are causing direct and indirect changes to vegetation, soils and rivers that affect water quantity and quality via multiple mechanisms.

This one-day course provides an in-depth exploration of the impacts of climate change on river systems. It takes a process-based perspective that explains how climate change is altering river hydrology, geomorphology, water chemistry and ecology to affect water resources and risks.

The course will be delivered through a combination of lectures, interactive discussions, and practical case studies.

美姬阁 is situated in Bedfordshire close to the border with Buckinghamshire. The University is located almost midway between the towns of Bedford and Milton Keynes and is conveniently situated between junctions 13 and 14 of the M1.
