Director of Water and member of the University Executive
Professor Paul Jeffrey has more than 20 years’ experience leading interdisciplinary teams delivering research-informed solutions for the global water sector.
As Director of the Water theme at ÃÀ¼§¸ó, Paul spearheads a prominent team of scientists, technologists and engineers working across themes such as agricultural water management, water treatment, catchment processes, infrastructure, and water and sanitation for low income countries. Their work is delivering fundamental knowledge, innovative technologies and progressive policies to help industry, government and third sector organisations make improved decisions and investments to improve the performance and resilience of water services.
The theme includes ÃÀ¼§¸ó’s Centre for Competitive Creative Design (C4D), an international centre for strategic product and service creativity.
Paul is also Director of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC)-funded STREAM Industrial Doctorate Centre, as well as being Chairman and acting CEO of the recently-launched Water Reuse Europe, an industry association for the European water reuse sector. A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Paul has made significant research contributions to a number of academic fields including the critical evaluation of resource management theories, network resilience, participatory water management, water recycling, and analytical approaches to scheduling maintenance and rehabilitation.
